This part is drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This part replaces GB/T 3780.15-2006 "Carbon black Part 15. Determination of light transmittance of toluene extract", and GB/T 3780.15-
2006, the main technical changes are as follows.
--- removed "with the A method of testing, carbon black samples without breaking; with B method test, carbon black samples subject to crushing treatment", while increasing
Plus "before the test, the sample should pass through the 850μm (20 mesh) sieve"; this version only provides a method, not divided into A and B method
(See 6.2, version 6.2 of 6.2);
--- increase the fume hood (see 5.13);
--- increase the "carbon black drying is optional, such as thermal cracking carbon black, in the production process has been dry." (See 6.3 note);
--- modify the test steps for the "spectrophotometer calibration" and "test the test" two parts (see 8.11.2.2,.2006 version of the first 8

1 Scope
This part of GB/T 3780 specifies the principle of determining the transmittance of carbon black toluene extract by spectrophotometer, reagents, instruments, samples
Products, test procedures, test data processing, precision and test reports.
This part applies to rubber carbon black and pigment carbon black.
This part does not apply to carbon black varieties with high toluene extract content.

3 principle
A certain amount of dry carbon black is mixed with a volume of toluene, the mixture is filtered and the filtrate is transferred to a colorimetric bath,
The transmittance of the filtrate was measured with pure toluene as a blank at a given wavelength.
The light transmittance size reflects the degree of discoloration caused by the toluene extract from the surface of the carbon black.
