1 Scope
This standard specifies the raw materials, mix types, mix design, mix performance indicators, and mix test for asphalt mixtures for roads.
Method terminology.
This standard is applicable to the formulation and revision of relevant asphalt compound standards and the preparation and translation of relevant engineering and technical documents.
2 raw materials
2.1
Asphalt asphalt; bitumen
Solid or semi-solid viscous material, including natural days, derived from crude oil or coal, or naturally occurring in nature, dark brown to black, including days
However, asphalt, petroleum asphalt, coal pitch and the like.
Note. Asphalt is commonly used in the United States; bitumen is commonly used in Europe.
2.2
Asphalt cement; asphaltbinder; bituminousbinder; binder
Asphalt binder
A general term for asphalt-based materials (including added external additives, modifiers, etc.) that can bind aggregates into agglomerates.
Note. commonly used asphintbinder in the United States, commonly used bituminousbinder in Europe.
2.3
Asphalt glue asphaltmastic
a mixture of asphalt binder and mineral powder.
2.4
Hard road asphalt hardpavingbitumen
Preparation of high modulus anti-fatigue asphalt mixture, French high modulus asphalt mixture (EME) asphalt.
Note. Generally, the pitch is less than 25 (0.1mm).
2.5
Modified asphalt modifiedasphalt;modifiedbitumen;modifiedasphaltcement
An asphalt binder with improved properties made by the addition of one or more modified materials.
2.6
Polymer modified asphalt polymermodifiedasphalt; polymermodifiedbitumen
An asphalt binder with improved properties made by the addition of one or more polymer additives.
2.7
Rubber asphalt asphaltrubber
The mixture formed by the asphalt, the recovered tire rubber powder and the additive (if necessary) is sufficiently reacted at a high temperature to swell.
Note. The amount of recycled rubber powder is not less than 15% of the total weight of rubber asphalt.
2.8
Rubber modified asphalt rubbermodifiedasphalt; crumbubbbermodifiedasphalt
A homogenous modified asphalt material formed by recovering tire rubber powder and additives by mechanical shear grinding and mixing in hot asphalt.
