1 Scope
This standard specifies the meteorological geographical division of China's land, offshore and surrounding waters.
This standard applies to meteorological geographical division descriptions in meteorological monitoring and forecasting services.
2 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

According to the same meteorological characteristics, combined with the geographical orientation, the regional definition of China's land and offshore and surrounding waters.
Note. The purpose of the zoning is to improve the accuracy of products such as meteorological monitoring and forecasting services, and to unify the description of geographic locations in meteorological monitoring and forecasting service information.
3 division principle
In order to meet the needs of meteorological monitoring and forecasting services, the main basis for the geographical division of meteorological products in this standard is.
--- Drawing on the research results of geographical division of different purposes of the predecessors;
--- Based on the differences in annual climate indicators and accumulated temperature distribution across the country;
--- Reference to the characteristics of administrative boundaries, topography and geographical orientation;
--- Respect for traditions and habits, and absorb the long-term habitual and universal divisional titles of certain meteorological business personnel.
After comprehensive analysis, the similar geographical areas within the geographical range of China are divided into one area, and the place where the difference changes obviously is determined as
District boundary.
4 Geographical division of terrestrial meteorological products
The land part of China is divided into nine major regions, namely Northwest China, North China, Northeast China, Huanghuai Region, Jianghuai Region, and Jiangnan.
Area, Jianghan area, South China, Southwest area. The range of each partition is shown in Table 1, and the partition results are shown in Figure A.1.

The Huaihe River to the Yangtze River in the Jianghuai Region contains Henan, Hubei, Anhui, and Jiangsu provinces.
From the Yangtze River to the Nanling in the south of the Yangtze River, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi, Zhejiang, Anhui, Jiangsu, Shanghai, and northern Fujian (extending from Nanling to the east)
