1 Scope
This standard specifies the test method for ammonia release from wooden furniture.
This standard applies to the determination of ammonia release in wooden furniture components and finished products.

3 test methods
3.1 Dryer method
3.1.1 General
This method is suitable for testing wooden furniture components.
3.1.2 Principle
A crystallizing dish containing a dilute sulfuric acid absorbent was placed at the bottom of the desiccator. The ammonia released from the sample was absorbed by dilute sulfuric acid.
In the presence of sodium cyanide and sodium hypochlorite, salicylic acid produces a blue-green indigo blue dye, which is based on color depth and colorimetric quantification to calculate ammonia
Concentration, expressed in milligrams per liter (mg/L).
3.1.3 Instruments and Equipment
3.1.3.1 Mounting brackets.
3.1.3.2 Spectrophotometer. The measurable wavelength is 697.5nm and the slit is less than 20nm.
3.1.3.3 glass dryer. diameter 240mm, volume 9L ~ 11L.
3.1.3.4 Crystallization dish. diameter 120mm, height 60mm~65mm.
3.1.3.5 stoppered colorimetric tube. 10 mL.
3.1.4 Reagents or materials
3.1.4.1 The test water shall comply with the third-grade water regulations in GB/T 6682, and the reagents shall be of analytical grade.
3.1.4.2 Ammonia-free water. The test water does not contain ammonia or ammonium ions. Ammonia-free water preparation. Add a small amount of permanganate in tertiary water (see 3.1.4.1)
