1 Scope
This standard specifies the general method for the determination of nitrate by indigo carmine sodium (indigo carmine) colorimetry and brucine colorimetry.

3 method principle
3.1 Indigo disulfonate (indigo carmine) colorimetric method
In sulfuric acid medium, sodium indigo disulfonate (indigo carmine) is oxidized by nitrate to yellow indigo song to fade the blue, with spectrophotometry
