3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions as defined in GB/T 35221 and GB/T 35226 apply to this document.

Soil temperature
Underlying surface temperature and soil temperature at different depths.
3.2
Surface temperature
The temperature of the bare soil surface exposed directly to the sky.
Note. It is 0cm ground temperature.

Shallow ground temperature shalowsoiltemperature
Soil temperature at a depth of 0 cm to 40 cm (excluding 0 cm and 40 cm) above the ground.
