This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part 1.Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents"

This document replaces GB/T 2773-2008 "Ningxiang pig". Compared with GB/T 2773-2008, except for structural adjustments and editorial changes,
In addition, the main technical changes are as follows.
a) The origin and characteristics of the varieties have been changed (see Chapter 4, 2.1 of the.2008 edition);
b) The physical characteristics have been changed (see Chapter 5, 2.2 of the.2008 edition);
c) The adult weight and size have been changed (see Chapter 6, 2.3 of the.2008 edition);
d) The reproductive performance has been modified (see 7.1, 2.4.1 of the.2008 edition);
e) increased growth and development (see 7.2);

1 Scope
This document stipulates the origin and characteristics of the Ningxiang pig breed, its physical appearance, adult weight and size, production performance and basic requirements for breeding.
The determination method is described.
This document is applicable to the breed identification of Ningxiang pigs.

3 Terms and definitions

4.Origin and characteristics of varieties
Ningxiang pigs are native to Ningxiang City, Changsha City, Hunan Province. The central production area is Ningxiang City, and it is mainly distributed in Changsha, Zhuzhou, Xiangtan, Loudi, Shaoyang, etc.
This breed has the characteristics of strong adaptability, early maturity, easy fattening, strong fat storage ability, tolerance to rough feed, tender and juicy meat.
5 Physical characteristics
Ningxiang pigs have black backs and white bellies. Some individuals have large black spots or small scattered spots on their backs, white hair on the neck and shoulders, and black hair at the junction of black and white.
The body is medium-sized, short, round and fat, cylindrical. The head shape is divided into "lion head", "Fu head" and "castrated chicken head". The ears are drooping, the neck is short and thick, and there is
Dewlap. Backline is often concave, belly is large and drooping, not dragging on the ground. Limbs are short and thick, and often lie down. There are 6 to 8 pairs of nipples, arranged neatly. Rump is slightly tilted

15.5cm, chest circumference 129.9cm±10.1cm; adult sow (third litter, 2 months of pregnancy) weight 142.73kg±11.37kg, body length
137.6cm±7.5cm, height 65.4cm±3.2cm, chest 132.3cm±7.6cm.
