This standard specifies the tractor exhaust muffler terms and definitions, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging and storage.
This standard applies to tractor exhaust muffler (hereinafter referred to as the muffler).

3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this standard.
3.1
Airflow duct having sound absorbing lining or special form, which can effectively reduce airflow noise devices.
Note. The engine exhaust muffler generally include the entire muffler assembly from the air inlet muffler beginning, excluding the engine exhaust manifold and exhaust pipe.
3.2
Front and rear muffler means the difference between the power level of the sound radiation through the exhaust port. Symbol is D, in decibels [dB (A)].
Note. Under normal circumstances, the nozzle size, shape, sound field distribution remains approximately the same, the insertion loss is equal to the sound of a given measuring point before and after the installation of muffler pressure
