Determination paint chlorinated hydrocarbon content Gas chromatography

1 Scope

This standard specifies the determination coatings chlorinated hydrocarbon content by gas chromatography method. These include chlorinated hydrocarbons. dichloromethane, dichloroethane Dioxane, chloroform, trichloroethane, carbon tetrachloride and other types of chlorinated hydrocarbons. This standard applies to all kinds of paints and coatings raw materials.

2 Normative references

The following documents contain provisions which, through reference in this standard and become the standard terms. For dated references, subsequent Amendments (not including errata content) or revisions do not apply to this standard, however, encourage the parties to the agreement according to study Whether the latest versions of these documents. For undated reference documents, the latest versions apply to this standard. GB/T 3186 Paints, varnishes and raw materials for paints and varnishes - Sampling (GB/T 3186-2006, ISO 15528.2000, IDT) Principle 3 The sample was diluted diluted with a solvent into the gas chromatograph, a capillary column by bringing a test compound with other compounds completely separated After electron capture detector, within the standard method.

4 Reagents and materials

4.1 Carrier gas. nitrogen, purity ≥99.995%. 4.2 auxiliary gas (septum purge and makeup). with a carrier gas of nitrogen the same nature. 4.3 Internal standard. the sample is not present compound, the compound and other compounds can be completely separated from the chromatogram. Purity of at least 99% (mass fraction) or known purity. For example. bromopropane like. 4.4 Calibration. compounds used for calibration, purity (mass fraction) of at least 99% purity or known. 4.5 Dilution solvent. the organic solvents suitable for dilution of the sample does not contain any substances interfere with the determination of the purity of at least 99% (by mass) Or known purity. For example. water-borne coatings can be used acetonitrile, dimethylformamide, methanol, or the like; solvent-based paints can be used ethyl acetate, n-hexyl Dioxane and the like.

5 Equipment

5.1 Gas chromatograph, with the following configuration. 5.1.1 Inlet and dividing device, and vaporizing chamber liner can be replaced. 5.1.2 programmed temperature controller. 5.1.3 Detector The following three types of detectors either. 5.1.3.1 electron capture detector (ECD). 5.1.3.2 has been calibrated and tuned mass spectrometer or other mass selective detector. 5.1.3.3 have been calibrated Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR spectrometer). NOTE. If you use 5.1.3.2 or 5.1.3.3 detector for qualitative identification of the test compound, the instrument should be connected to a gas chromatograph and according to the instrument manufacturer Suppliers for related instructions. 5.1.4 Column. should be effective separation of the test compound. Such as. (5% phenyl) methyl polysiloxane 95% capillary column or equivalent models. 5.2 Injector. feed capacity is at least twice the volume of the sample.
