Category 4
This standard applies metal intensifying screens according to different metal materials are divided into the following categories.
a) lead screens;
b) steel screen;
c) copper screen;
d) tantalum screen;
e) tungsten screen.
NOTE. The standard classification of metal intensifying screen and GB/T 19943 requirements are the same.
5 Technical requirements
5.1 Overview
Metal intensifying screens usually consist of closely bonded and metal liner.
Metallic material may be lead, steel, copper, tantalum, tungsten or other heavy metals.
The liner material may be paper, plastic or other suitable non-metallic materials.
5.2 chemical composition of metals
Stipulated by the contract.
5.3 Thickness
Thickness of the metal intensifying screens should meet appropriate standards of industrial radiographic testing (such as GB/T 19943) requirements.
