4 Reagents and materials

4.1 Methanol. chromatographically pure.
4.2 acetonitrile. chromatography.
4.3 anhydrous ether.
4.4 chloroform.
4.5 sodium hydroxide.
4.6 sodium acetate (NaAc · 3H2O).
4.7 Phosphate. greater than 85% purity.
4.8 glacial acetic acid.
4.9 0.5mol/L sodium hydroxide solution. Weigh 20g sodium hydroxide dissolved in water and dilute to 1L.
4.10 0.05mol/L sodium acetate buffer solution. Weigh 6.8g sodium acetate, dissolved in 950mL of water, glacial acetic acid to adjust pH to 4.8,
The volume to 1L.
4.11 phosphoric acid solution (1 + 4). 10mL 40mL phosphoric acid and water.
4.12 methanol - water (1 + 1). 50mL of methanol and 50mL of water.
