This standard replaces GB/T 12095-1989 "starch spot determination."
This standard and GB/T 12095-1989 compared to major changes are as follows.
--- Standard name changed to "Determination of starch spots";
--- Standardized detection methods. the scope of the words "dried powdered starch and modified starch," a clear vision for the analysts
"Uncorrected visual acuity or corrected visual acuity of 1.0 or more";

1 Scope
This standard specifies the determination of starch visual observation spots methods.
This standard applies to dried powdered starch and modified starch.
2 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this standard.

By visual observation of the sample, read out the number of spots.
4 Instrument
4.1 transparent plate. engraved with 10 square grid (1cm × 1cm) of a colorless transparent plate. Clean, non-polluting.

5.1 Sample preparation
Samples should be thoroughly mixed.
