1 Scope

This document describes a method for the determination of icariin in health foods by HPLC. 4 Principle

Icariin in the sample was extracted with 70% ethanol solution, and the oily sample was degreased with n-hexane, filtered, and analyzed by high performance liquid chromatography. The product was detected by UV detector, qualitative analysis was performed by retention time and quantitative analysis was performed by external standard method.

5 Reagents or materials

Unless otherwise specified, only chromatographic grade reagents were used. 5.1 Reagents 5.1.1 Water.
