Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with GB/T 1.1-2009 given rules.
This standard replaces GB/T 19285-2003. This standard compared with GB/T 19285-2003, the main technical changes are as follows.
--- Increased soil corrosion steel pipe inspection and evaluation methods buried;
--- Increasing the outer coating condition and not damaged excavation point detection and evaluation methods;
--- Increase the cathodic protection effect is not excavation detection methods;
--- Increasing the comprehensive evaluation method of corrosion protection systems.
--- Increase the corrosion protection of buried steel pipeline system fuzzy comprehensive evaluation algorithm example (see Appendix N).

3 Terms, definitions and abbreviations
3.1 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1.1
Soil resistivity soilresistivity
The average value per unit length of the resistance of the soil, is the characterization of soil conductivity indicators. The unit is Ω · m.
3.1.2
Pipe ground potentialofpipelinetosoil
Conduit adjacent electrolyte (soil) potential difference.
Note. The engineering staff will generally be "under conditions of cathodic protection tube ground" conventionally called the "protection potential."
3.1.3
Electrode potential electrodepotential
In contact with the same electrolyte between the electrode and the reference electrode, the outer circuit voltage measured.
3.1.4
Corrosion potential corrosionpotential
Metal corrosion in a given system, the electrode potential.
Note. Regardless of whether there is a net current (external) from research into or out of the metal surface, this term applies.
3.1.5
Corrosion potential freecorrosionpotential
No net current (external) from research into or out of the metal surface corrosion potential.
3.1.6
Redox potential redoxpotential
An inert electrode placed in moist soil containing oxidizing or reducing agent, the potential of establishing equilibrium between its oxidized state and a reduced state.
