Summary
This standard applies to measuring gas-insulated metal-enclosed substations (GIS) due to operation or disruptive discharge overvoltage steep wave front, particularly suitable for measuring the following three steep wave front overvoltage device [1] and the entire measurement system: a) internal steep wave front overvoltage, b) transient voltage shell, c) external steep wave front overvoltages. Considered in this standard is limited in time parameters within 10��s. Estimating uncertainty of measurement procedures described in IEC 61259 applies to internal steep wave front overvoltage test level. Uncertainty estimates are based on tests specified in IEC 61259 is expected to generate an internal circuit overvoltage steep wave front in the typical waveforms.
