This revised standard adopts ISO 20507.2003 "Fine ceramics (advanced ceramics, advanced technical ceramics) --- The term" (in English).
This standard modifications adopted ISO 20507.2003, the made technical changes, modifications, see Appendix A.
This standard also made the following editorial changes.
--- Deleted international standards foreword;
--- Original standard terms sort adjusted.
This standard replaces GB/T 17991-1999 "industrial ceramics and related terms."
This standard compared with GB/T 17991-1999, increasing the ISO 20507.2003 entries, delete the original standard part of the entry.
Appendix A of this standard is an informative annex.

This standard also lists some of the acronyms in science and technology has been widely accepted in the literature as well as their corresponding standard terms and definitions.
