Drafting.
This document replaces GB/T 16997-1997 "Representation of the main failure types of adhesives".
In addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
--- Increased adhesive stress whitening failure (SWCF) (see Table 1);
--- Increased the corrosion damage of the bonding surface (COR) (see Table 1).
This document is equivalent to ISO 10365.2022 "Representation of the principal types of failure of adhesives".

Representation of the main types of adhesive failure
1 Scope
This document describes the main failure types and modes of adhesively bonded joints and illustrates their failure phenomena graphically.
This document applies to mechanical property tests performed on adhesive joints and is independent of the properties of the adherends and adhesives that make up the joints.
2 Normative references
The contents of the following documents constitute the essential clauses of this document through normative references in this document.

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions defined in ISO 472 and the following apply.
3.1
Adhesive joint assembly
Completed glued assembly.
3.2
Adhesion failure
Visually visible damage occurs at the interface between the adhesive and the adherend.
3.3
cohesive failure; cohesion failure
Visible damage to the adhesive or adherend occurs.
4 Applications
The test results of the mechanical properties of adhesive joints are usually expressed in test values. In order to better reflect the bonding effect of adhesive joints, various types of broken
Bad provides a representation of the type of damage.
The damage types are shown in Table 1.
