introduction
Rehabilitation assistive devices (including software) are classified according to their functions. The classification consists of three levels, and each code consists of three pairs of numbers.
For each level, we provide the code, name, explanation, inclusion, exclusion and cross-references.
In addition to the ISO 9999 standard and the classification itself, a comparison between the previous edition of ISO 9999 (ISO 9999.2016) and this edition (ISO 9999.2022) is provided.
Tables and alphabetical indexes are provided to facilitate the use of the classification and to improve its usability.

High-level classification of sectors. Inclusion in WHO-FIC will facilitate the use of this document.
This document uses the terminology of the ICF, which is a classification of health and health-related areas, organized into two lists. physical, personal, and social.
The classification is done from different perspectives. one list is body functions and structures, the other list is activities and participation.
Since impairments occur in certain situations, the ICF also includes a list of environmental factors. Rehabilitation assistive devices in this list are considered environmental factors.
ICF is one of the core classifications of WHO-FIC (see Appendix A).
The index provides term indexes arranged in Chinese pinyin alphabetical order and English alphabetical order to facilitate the search of classification information.
NOTE. Some rehabilitation assistive devices may be classified as medical devices.
