This document replaces GB/T 10858-2008 "Aluminum and Aluminum Alloy Welding Wire". Compared with GB/T 10858-2008, except for structural adjustment and compilation
In addition to editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
a) The technical requirements for dimensions have been changed (see 5.1, 4.2 of the.2008 edition);
b) The technical requirements and test methods for surface quality have been changed (see 5.1 and 6.1.2, 4.3 and 5.2.2 of the.2008 edition);
c) Added 3 models. SAl4020, SAl4943 and SAl5R59 (see 5.2);
d) Changed the chemistry of SAl5087, SAl5183A, SAl5356A, SAl5556, SAl5556A, SAl5556B, SAl5654

1 Scope
This document specifies the models, technical requirements, test methods, rounding rules, inspection rules and supply of aluminum and aluminum alloy solid welding wires and filler wires.

This document applies to aluminum and aluminum alloy solid welding wires and filler wires (hereinafter referred to as "welding wires") for fusion welding.

4 models
4.1 Model classification
Welding wire models are divided according to the chemical composition of the welding wire. For a comparison of the welding wire models of this document and other relevant standards, see Appendix C.
4.2 Model compilation method
The welding wire model should consist of two parts.
a) Part 1.Use the letter “S” to indicate welding wire;
b) Part 2.Use “Al” plus 4 digits, a 4-digit or 5-digit combination of numbers and letters to represent the chemical composition classification of aluminum welding wires
Code, see Table 1.
In addition to the above mandatory codes, optional codes can be appended in parentheses after the second part.
The chemical composition code is represented by "Al" plus the chemical symbol and nominal content of the main added elements, see Table 1.
