Determination of ethanol concentration in wine and edible alcohol
1 Scope of application
This standard specifies the method for determination of ethanol concentration (alcohol content) in wine and edible alcohol.
The first method density bottle method is suitable for the determination of ethanol concentration (alcohol content) in wine and edible alcohol.
The second alcohol meter method is suitable for the determination of ethanol concentration (alcohol content) in wine (except beer) and edible alcohol.
The third method gas chromatography is suitable for the determination of ethanol concentration (alcohol content) in beer, wine and fruit wine.
The fourth method, the U-shaped oscillating tube digital density meter method, is suitable for the determination of ethanol concentration (alcohol content) in wine and edible alcohol.
The first density bottle method
2 Principles
Use the distillation method to remove non-volatile substances in the sample, and use the density bottle method to measure the density of the sample (alcohol aqueous solution) at 20°C.
Consult the comparison table between the density of alcohol aqueous solution and ethanol concentration (alcohol content) to find the ethanol concentration (alcohol content) at 20°C.
3 Reagents and materials
The water is grade three water specified in GB/T 6682.
4 Instruments and equipment

4.2 All-glass still. 500mL.
4.3 Constant temperature water bath. temperature control accuracy ±0.1℃.
4.4 Density bottle with thermometer. 25mL or 50mL.
4.5 Volumetric flask. 100mL.
5 analysis steps
5.1 Sample handling
5.1.1 Preparation of carbonated wine samples
After keeping the clean, dry 100mL volumetric flask and sample at 20°C, accurately measure 100mL of the sample into a 500mL distillation bottle.
