Standard "Code for Fire Protection Design of Tall Buildings"
The amendments to "Code for Fire Protection Design of Tall Buildings" GB 50045
-95 (2001 Edition) has been approved today, implemented on October 1, 2005. And
theclauseso£3.0.1, 3.0.2, 3.0.8, 4.1.2, 4.1.3, 4.1.12, 4.2.7, 4.3.L 6.1.1,
6.1.11 CL 2, 3, 5, 6), 6.1.16, 7.4. 2, 7. 4.6 Cl, 2 , 7, 8), 7.6.L 7.6.2, 7.6.3,
7. 6. 4, 9. 1. L 9. 1. 4 CL 2, 3), 9. 4. 1 and 9. 4. 2 are compulsory provisions and must
be enforced strictly. Meanwhile the previous clauses shall be abolished simultaneously.
The revision to the regulation and the details shall be published on the magazine of
"Standardization of Engineering Construction" recently.

Public Security cooperated with other associated departments. Clauses include

The national standard "Code for Fire Protection Design of Tall Buildings" GB
50045- 95 has been revised partially by Sichuan Fire Research Institute of Ministry
Public Security cooperated with other associated departments. We are hereby issuing
approval of the revision, which shall be implemented on May 1, 1999. The correspond-
ing clauses shall be abolished simultaneously after revison and this is the announcement.

Notice on Publishing the National Standard of "Code for Fire
Protection Design of Tall Buildings"

According to the requirements of the document Ji Zong (1987) No. 2390 of The
State Planning Commission, "Code for Fire Protection Design of Tall Buildings" drawn
up together by Ministry of Public Security and other departments concerned has been
jointly checked up by related departments. "Code for Fire Protection Design of Tall
Buildings" GB 50045-95 has been approved as a compulsory national standard and put
in force since November 1 , 1995. The original "Code for Fire Protection Design of Tall
Buildings" GBJ 45 - 82 shall be abolished at the same time.
If there are some difficulties indeed in some individual clauses during the process of
implementing this code, it shall be settled through consultation by proprietor, designing
unit and local fire supervisory organization presided over by district department respon-
sible for the construction.
The Ministry of Public Security is in charge of the administration of this code and
The Fire Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security is responsible for explanation in de-
tail. The Institute of Standards and Norms of the Ministry of Construction is in charge
of publication and issue.
