This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for Standardization Work Part 1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" drafted. This document replaces GB 16883-1997 "Standards for Determination of Natural Foci of Plague and Animal Plague Epidemic", which is consistent with GB 16883-1997 In addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows. --- Changed the terms and definitions of "natural plague foci", "main host" and "main vector" (see 3.1, 3.2 and 3.3,.1997 edition 3.1, 3.2 and 3.3); --- Added the terms and definitions of "type of natural plague foci" and "animal plague epidemic" (see 3.4 and 3.5); ---Increased that the detection of Yersinia pestis-specific gene and specific antigen in the same specimen is double positive, which can determine animal plague an ongoing epidemic (see 5.1.1); --- Added the assessment of animal plague epidemic intensity (see 5.2); --- Changed the collection method of test specimens in Appendix A and part of the technical content of the bacteriological test method of plague in Appendix B (see Appendix A and Appendix B, Appendix A and Appendix B of the.1997 edition); --- Added the type of natural foci of plague in China (see Appendix C). 1 Scope

This document specifies the newly discovered natural foci of plague in China and the determination of the prevalence of animal plague. This document is applicable to China's determination of natural plague foci, animal plague epidemic and animal plague epidemic intensity assessment.

3 Terms and Definitions
