Foreword

This standard replaces GA/T 144-1996 "fingerprint terminology", and the main technical changes compared with GA/T 144-1996 are as follows. --- Increased anatomical terminology of the palm surface (see Chapter 4); --- Increased the terminology of the finger papillary pattern features (see 5.1, 5.2); --- Added sample handwritten terminology and handprint identification terminology (see Chapters 8, 9); --- Removed some terms (see 3.1.81, 3.1.86, 3.1.87 of the.1996 edition); --- The terms are categorized according to the location and characteristics (see Chapters 2 through 9). This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009. Please note that some of the contents of this document may involve patents. 1 Scope

This standard specifies the terminology of forensic science fingerprints. This standard applies to the fields of fingerprint inspection, fingerprint display, automatic fingerprint identification system application and file management.

2 Hand division terminology
