Summary	This standard specifies the terms and definitions of high-voltage shunt capacitors, conditions of use, technical performance requirements, testing, marking, packaging, storage, transportation and acceptance. This standard applies to parallel connected to the rated frequency 50Hz, rated voltage higher than 1kV AC power system, to improve the power factor of the capacitor. This standard does not apply to the following capacitors: - Self-healing type capacitors; - Assembled capacitors; - Series capacitors for power systems; - Capacitors for induction heating devices; - Capacitors used at ac voltages superimposed with dc voltages.
