Professional content digital reading technology reading features and tags
1 Scope
This standard specifies the basic functions and use of functional labels of digital reading technology for news and publishing professional content.
This standard applies to the design, development, and application of digital reading functions for professional content in the press and publishing industry.
2 Normative references
The following documents are essential for the application of this document. For dated references, only the dated version is appropriate
Used in this document. For undated references, the latest version (including all amendments) applies to this document.
GB/T 18793-2002 Information Technology Extensible Markup Language (XML) 1.0
3 terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1
Professional content reading
For science and technology, education, social science research, etc. with complex typography, formulas, charts, footnotes, references, etc.
The digital reading method adopted by professional digital content resources.
3.2
Multi-windows reading
A digital reading function that opens multiple reading windows simultaneously and displays different contents respectively.
3.3
Flow content
It can automatically adjust the layout of the content as the size of the content presentation area in the digital content reading carrier changes.
3.4
Layout-fixed content
The content of the layout cannot be adjusted automatically as the size of the content area in the digital content reading carrier changes.
3.5
Relevance reading
When you read the content, you can also read other content related to the content at the same time.
3.6
Contrast reading
Open two contents at the same time, and can read and compare.
3.7
Knowledge element
Knowledge with complete knowledge expression and no need for segmentation.
Note. It consists of the knowledge element name and its attribute space.
4 Basic functions of professional reading
The professional reading function is different from paper reading for the purpose of reading, studying and researching digital professional content.
Function, professional reading function mainly expands application in two aspects of content organization scheme utilization and extension function.
The basic functions of professional reading mainly include related reading, contrast reading, extended reading, multi-window, and cross-device window content
Switch, and make explicit requirements for the labels corresponding to the functions.
5 Use of professional reading function tags
An XML file is used to describe the relationship between tags and content in the professional reading function. The file is recommended to be named
ReadingTags.XML, and the file should conform to the XML 1.0 syntax rules. Use tags in uncontrolled reading mode
When indexing streaming content, you can embed tags that conform to grammatical rules into the corresponding bits in the content resource (XML, Epub, etc.)
It can be set without the need for a separate ReadingTags.XML file. See Appendix A. Sample Files for the use of professional reading feature tags.
When reading, the application implements the professional reading function according to the attributes and parameters of the tag.
