This standard YS/T 299-1994 compared to the main changes are as follows.

1 Scope
This standard specifies requirements for synthetic rutile, test methods, inspection rules and signs, packaging, transportation, storage, quality certificate and contract
(Or orders) content.
This standard applies to ilmenite as raw material, the use of pre-oxidation, reduction of weak or strong acid leaching reducing corrosion and other methods for producing synthetic rutile production
Products, and the production of titanium tetrachloride and a fine for doing welding, coating using synthetic rutile product. Other methods may refer to the production of synthetic rutile

3 Requirements
3.1 Categories
Product chemical composition of different TiO2 and impurity elements, divided TiO2-1, TiO2-2, TiO2-3, TiO2-4 four grades.
3.2 Chemical composition
Chemical composition of the product shall comply with the requirements in Table 1.
