Urine total uranium and uranium-235/uranium-238
Ratio analysis method inductive coupling
Plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS)
1 Scope
This standard specifies the ratio of total uranium and uranium-235/uranium-238 (235U/238U) in urine by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS).
Methods.
This standard is applicable to the measurement of total uranium and 235U/238U ratio in human urine. The analysis of the ratio of total uranium and 235U/238U in other biological samples may be
Refer to this standard.
2 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
2.1
Quality bias massbias
Observed or measured significant deviation of the isotope ratio from the true ratio, the bias is one of the mass differences between the two isotopes
function.
2.2
Quality discrimination massdiscrimination
The process of mass degradation in mass spectrometers. The measured value may “offset” from the true value due to the loss of light ions or heavy ions.
3 Principle of the method
3.1 Analysis of total uranium in urine. After digesting the urine sample with HNO3 H2O2, the volume was determined, and the total uranium content was analyzed by ICP-MS using the external standard method. this
The standard limit for the determination of uranium in urine is 16 ng/L.
3.2 Determination of 235U/238U ratio in urine. After digesting the urine sample with HNO3 H2O2, the chromatographic separation was performed by tributyl phosphate (TBP)
Uranium is extracted, and the ratio of 235U/238U is analyzed by ICP-MS. The mass spectrometer quality discrimination is corrected by uranium isotope standard substance.
4 reagents and materials
4.1 The experimental water is ultrapure water (H2O, resistivity ≥18.2MΩ/cm).
4.2 Nitric acid (HNO3, density 1.42g/mL). excellent grade pure or high purity.
4.3 Nitric acid (HNO3, concentration 5 mol/L). Prepared with water (4.1) and nitric acid (4.2).
4.4 Nitric acid (HNO3, volume fraction 2%). Prepared with water (4.1) and nitric acid (4.2) purified by sub-boiling distillation.
