1 Scope

This standard specifies gas chromatography-mass spectrometry methods for the determination of diethylene glycol dimethyl ether in water-based paints, solvent-based paints, inks, and adhesives. This standard applies to the determination of diethylene glycol dimethyl ether in water-based paints, solvent-based paints, inks, and adhesives.

2 Method summary

3 Reagents and materials

Unless otherwise stated, the reagents used in this standard are analytically pure. 3.1 Diethylene glycol dimethyl ether reference material. If the sample contains ethylene glycol monobutyl ether, optional Diethylene glycol monobutyl ether or the like is used as an internal standard. 3.3 Diluent solvent. The organic solvent used to dilute the sample, does not contain any substances that interfere with the test. Purity ≥99% (mass fraction), or already Know the purity. For example. methanol, ethyl acetate and other solvents. See Appendix A for dilution solvents for common samples. 3.4 Internal standard stock solution. Accurately weigh out the internal standard (3.2) 0.25g (accurate to 0.0001g) and put it in a 250mL volumetric flask. The agent (3.3) dissolves to volume. The solution contained an internal standard compound of 1000 mg/L. 3.5 Internal standard working solution. Accurately transfer 25 mL of internal standard stock solution (3.4) into a 500 mL volumetric flask and dilute to volume with diluent solvent (3.3). Scale. The solution contained an internal standard compound of 50 mg/L. 3.6 Standard solution stock solution (currently used). Accurately weigh out the diethylene glycol dimethyl ether standard substance (3.1) 0.25g (accurate to 0.0001g) In a 250-mL volumetric flask, dilute with a diluent (3.3) to volume. This solution contains diethylene glycol dimethyl ether 1000 mg/L. 3.7 standard working solution (current use). Pipette 50μL, 100μL,.200μL, 500μL, and 1000μL standard solution stock solution respectively (3.6) and 500 μL of the internal standard stock solution (3.4) in a 10 mL volumetric flask, dilute the solvent (3.3) to the mark and use as a standard working solution. The series of solutions contained internal standard compounds at a concentration of 50 mg/L and concentrations of 5 mg/L, 10 mg/L, 20 mg/L, and 50 mg/L, respectively. 100 mg/L diethylene glycol dimethyl ether.
