1 Scope
This standard specifies the method of direct mercury injection by solid sample to determine mercury content in copper concentrates.
This standard applies to the determination of mercury content in copper concentrates. The measurement range is. 0.0050μg/g~15μg/g.

3 Method summary
In an oxygen atmosphere, the sample is dried and decomposed at high temperatures in a decomposition furnace. Decomposition products are sent to the catalytic furnace through an oxygen stream.
After removal of impurities and catalytic decomposition, the mercury in the sample is decomposed into mercury atoms at high temperature, and is taken into the gold amalgamation tube by oxygen flow for selective capture.
After purging the purification system with oxygen, the tubes are rapidly heated to release mercury vapor. Mercury vapors are carried into a single-wavelength optical absorption cell at wavelengths
Absorbance of mercury was measured at 253.65 nm and quantified using a standard curve method.
4 Reagents and materials
Except where otherwise stated in the analysis, only approved grades of pure reagents and first grade water in accordance with GB/T 6682 or equivalent purity are used.
Water.
4.1 Reagents
4.1.1 Nitric acid (HNO3), ρ=1.42 g/mL.
4.1.2 Potassium dichromate (K2Cr2O7).
4.1.3 Oxygen (O2), purity ≥ 99.99%.
4.2 reagent preparation
4.2.1 Nitric acid solution (1 9). Measure 10 mL of nitric acid (4.1.1) into 90 mL of water and mix.
