1 Scope
According to this standard if there are cosmetics for the presence of formaldehyde, it provides two methods of formaldehyde in cosmetics.
This standard applies to shampoo, hand sanitizer measured, lotions, creams, toothpaste, nail polish, powder formaldehyde.

3 Method summary
There is no case of formaldehyde donor, before using the column derivation method, liquid extract derived from a sample of formaldehyde, the reaction of 2,4-dinitrophenyl hydrazone;
Under the presence of formaldehyde donors, after pre-column derivatization fast, solvent extraction block the derivatization reaction, avoid derivatization process of decomposition of formaldehyde donors.
At 355nm wavelength, liquid chromatography (HPLC) assay, external standard.
4 Reagents and materials
Unless otherwise indicated, the reagents used were of analytical grade. The water is a water GB/T 6682 regulations, 10min after boiling before use
cool down.
4.1 acetonitrile. HPLC grade.
4.2 dichloromethane. HPLC grade.
4.3 sodium chloride.
4.4 sodium dihydrogen phosphate.
4.5 phosphoric acid (ρ = 1.69). mass fraction ≥85%.
4.6 buffer solution (pH2). preparation of 0.1mol/L sodium dihydrogen phosphate (4.4), adjusted with phosphoric acid (4.5) pH to 2.0.
4.7 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine. Purity ≥99%.
4.8 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine solution (2.0g/L). Weigh 2,4 dinitrophenylhydrazine 1.0g, dissolved in acetonitrile and dilute to 500mL.
4.9 Derivative solution. the exact amount of 100mL of buffer solution (4.6) and 100mL2,4- dinitrophenylhydrazine solution (4.8) and mix.
4.10 Formaldehyde standard solution. 100μg/mL. Ampoules package, placed above 10 ℃ stored at room temperature before using (preferably 20 ℃ ± 3 ℃) level
Scale, shaking evenly, recommended a one-time use after opening.
4.11 microporous membrane. 0.45μm, organic phase.
5. Apparatus
5.1 High performance liquid chromatograph. equipped with a diode array detector or a UV detector.
5.2 Analysis of balance. a sense of the amount of 0.001g.
