This standard is the first industry standard for entry-exit inspection and quarantine.
Determination of Calcium, Iron, Nickel and Sodium in Petroleum Coke
Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS)
1 Scope
This standard applies to the determination of calcium, iron, nickel and sodium in uncalcined or calcined petroleum coke.
This standard specifies the method for the determination of calcium, iron, nickel and sodium in uncalcined or calcined petroleum coke by atomic absorption spectrometry.
The measurement range and detection limit of this standard are shown in Table 1.
Table 1 Element determination range and detection limit unit is milligrams per kilogram
Element content range detection limit
Calcium 20 ~ 225 1.0
Iron 150~500 1.5
Nickel 5 ~.200 1.5
Sodium 15~115 0.2

3 Method summary
The sample was ashed at 700 ° C, the ash was melted with lithium tetraborate, and the melt was extracted with hydrochloric acid. The prepared solution was determined by atomic absorption spectrometry for calcium,
Iron, nickel, sodium content.
4 reagents
Unless otherwise stated, the reagents used are of excellent grade and the water is the secondary water specified in GB/T 6682.
4.1 Hydrochloric acid (1+4).
4.2 Lithium tetraborate.
4.3 Barium chloride.
4.4 Lanthanide Addition Solution (100g/L). 175g of cesium chloride is dissolved in 1L of water.
4.5 Diluent. Weigh 20.0g ± 0.1g lithium tetraborate in 100mL platinum gold dish, put into the muffle furnace with temperature rising to 1000 °C ± 10 °C
After 5 min or until the transparent melt is formed, it is taken out and cooled. After placing a stirring magnet in a platinum dish containing molten crystals of lithium tetraborate,
Place the platinum dish in a 2L Teflon beaker. A 50 mL hydrochloric acid solution (4.1) was added to the platinum dish. Temperature controlled magnetic stirrer
Stir and heat until the melt is completely dissolved. After dissolving, remove the platinum dish with a plastic rod. Wash platinum and plastic bars with water and wash
The liquid is added to the solution. Transfer the hot solution all the way to a 2L volumetric flask. Add 1000mL hydrochloric acid solution (4.1), shake and cool to room
temperature. Add 400 mL of lanthanide addition solution (4.4), shake well, and wash to the mark with water.
