| Summary | This standard is applicable to the determination of particle content, particle size distribution, and particle morphology of new and in-use oils in lubrication and hydraulic systems using direct imaging comprehensive testers. 1.1.1 This standard applies to petroleum-based and fully synthetic oils. The samples with the sports salary of 40 in the range of 2mm2/s150mm2/s can be directly measured. Samples with higher viscosity need to be diluted before measurement. 1.1.2 The measurement range of particles is from 4um to more than 70um, and the upper limit depends on whether the particles can pass through the 100um screen at the entrance. 1.1.3 The determination of particle content can reach 5,000,000/mL under normal circumstances. 1.1.4 This standard judges the morphology of particles with a length greater than 20um. Particle morphology can be classified as: sliding wear, cutting wear, fatigue |
