| Summary | This standard specifies the method for determining the diene value of petroleum products by potentiometric titration. This standard applies to debutanized light and middle distillates and related products. The range of diene values ??is from 0.6 gI2/100g to 148gI2/100g. For the sample with a diene value of less than 1.2 gI2/100g, a modified procedure is adopted (see 10.2). The measurement was carried out. This assay is an empirical method because some conjugated diolefins are not completely reacted at the same time, and some compounds that are not conjugated dienes may also participate in the reaction. For example, hydrazine and most of its homologs and alkyl-substituted compounds, as well as certain vinyl aromatic compounds, can react with maleic anhydride. Therefore, the interpretation of the results obtained in this standard should consider the above limitations. If the average of conjugated diolefins |
