1 Scope

This standard specifies the technical requirements for seed collection, seedling cultivation, afforestation, and young forest tending during the cultivation of Mesuaferrea. This standard applies to the breeding and afforestation of ironwood in the suitable area.

3 seed collection

3.1 Seeding mother tree Among the excellent forests above 20a, choose the mother tree that grows robust, straight, and free of pests and diseases. 3.2 Seed collection When the fruit changes from yellow-green to brown, the shell shrinks or slightly cracks, but it is harvested when it is not dropped. The seed collection method is carried out according to GB/T 16619. 3.3 Seed modulation The collected fruits are firstly spread in a cool place to be air-dried, and the shells are naturally dried and shrunk, and the seeds are taken out to remove impurities. 3.4 Seed storage Seeds should be followed by sowing. If not planted in time, it should be stored in wet sand. Choose a dry and ventilated indoor environment and lay a layer of 10cm on the ground. After the thick clean sand is placed, the ferrite seed is placed, and the seed and the sand are alternately placed. The seed volume is 1/3 of the volume of the sand, and the pile height is not more than 80cm. The storage temperature is maintained at around 15 °C, and the sand humidity is maintained at 60% of the field water holding capacity. 3.5 Seed quality Mature and full, 1000-grain weight ≥ 1200g, clarity more than 95%. The seed test method is carried out in accordance with the provisions of GB 2772.
