Foreword
This document is a standard or guiding technical document.
This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents".
Drafting.
This document modifies and adopts ISO /T S14778.2021 "Optical method for measuring the water contact angle of paper and paperboard". The document type has been changed from ISO.
The technical specifications have been adjusted to become my country's national standardization guiding technical documents.
Compared with ISO /T S14778.2021, this document has undergone the following structural adjustments.
---3.2 corresponds to 3.6 of ISO /T S14778.2021, and 3.3~3.6 correspond to 3.2~3.5 of ISO /T S14778.2021;
---Sections 6.2.1 to 6.2.7 correspond to sections 6.1.1 to 6.1.7 of ISO /T S14778.2021;
---10.3.1 corresponds to the suspension section of 10.3 in ISO /T S14778.2021, and 10.3.2~10.3.5 correspond to ISO /T S14778.2021.
Sections 10.3.1 to 10.3.4;
---Added 11.3.
The technical differences between this document and ISO /T S14778.2021, and the reasons therefor, are as follows.
a) The scope has been changed (see Chapter 1) to comply with the drafting rules for Chinese standardization documents;
b) ISO 186 (see Chapter 7) has been replaced with the normatively referenced GB/T 450 to adapt to my country's technical conditions and increase operability.

c) ISO 187 (see Chapter 8) has been replaced with the normatively referenced GB/T 10739 to adapt to my country's technical conditions and increase operability.

1 Scope
This document describes a method for measuring the contact angle between water and paper and paperboard surfaces using optical methods.
This document applies to most types of paper and paperboard.
This document does not apply to highly absorbent paper and paperboard with uneven surfaces.

3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1
baseline
The contact line between the droplet and the surface of paper or cardboard is determined by optical methods and used as a reference plane for measuring the contact angle.
Note. Accurate contact angle measurements are based on a precise baseline. To obtain the optimal baseline, adjust the camera's tilt angle to a slightly tilted position.
When observing a droplet, it is usually viewed at an angle of 0° to 3° to the horizontal plane, rather than directly from the side (0°). Experience shows that small changes in the viewing angle do not affect the effect.
It measures the contact angle value, but can improve the accuracy of baseline identification.
3.2
Three-phase point
The intersection of the three boundary lines. liquid/solid, liquid/gas, and solid/gas.
