Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This standard replaces GB/T 538-2006 "Industrial Boric Acid", compared with GB/T 538-2006, except for editorial changes, the main technical changes
The following is as follows.
--- Increased classification of industrial boric acid (see Chapter 4);
--- Adjusted the sulfate content index requirements for general industrial boric acid qualified products (see Chapter 5.2 of the 5.2,.2006 edition);
--- Removed the ammonia content indicator requirements for general industrial boric acid and the footnotes of the corresponding table (see Chapter 4 of the.2006 edition);
--- Added requirements for boric acid for the nuclear industry (see 5.3).
This standard was proposed by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation.
This standard is under the jurisdiction of the National Chemical Standardization Technical Committee of the Inorganic Chemical Subcommittee (SAC/TC63/SC1).

1 Scope
This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and marking, labeling, packaging, transportation and storage of industrial boric acid.
This standard applies to industrial boric acid. This product is mainly used in glass, enamel, chemical, building materials, nuclear industry and optical glass industries.

4 classification
According to the use of industrial boric acid, it is divided into two categories.
---I is for general industrial use;

5 requirements
5.1 Appearance. Industrial boric acid should be white powdery crystal or scaly ribbon with three oblique axes.
5.2 Class I boric acid products shall be tested in accordance with the test methods specified in this standard in accordance with Table 1.
