Foreword
This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents".

This document supersedes GB/T 5312-2009 Seamless Carbon Steel and Carbon Manganese Steel Tubes for Shipbuilding and GB/T 31928-2015 Stainless Steel Tubes for Shipbuilding.
Seamless steel pipes. This document is based on GB/T 5312-2009, and integrates the content of GB/T 31928-2015.
Compared with GB/T 31928-2015, apart from structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
a) The scope of application has been changed (see Chapter 1 of GB/T 5312-2009 and GB/T 31928-2015);
b) Added terms and definitions (see Chapter 3);
c) The manufacturing method code has been changed (see 4.2, 3.1 of GB/T 5312-2009);
d) The order details have been changed (see Chapter 5, Chapter 4 of GB/T 5312-2009 and GB/T 31928-2015);
e) Added steel grades and corresponding technical requirements (see Tables 2-5);
f) The density of stainless steel was changed (see Table 2, Table 5 of GB/T 31928-2015);
g) The hydraulic test requirements and allowable stresses have been changed (see 7.3, 6.5 of GB/T 5312-2009 and GB/T 31928-2015).

1.Scope
This document specifies the classification, designation, ordering details, manufacturing process, technical requirements, inspection rules, packaging, and marking of seamless steel pipes for marine applications.
The quality certificate describes the corresponding test methods.
This document applies to seamless steel pipes made of carbon steel, carbon manganese steel, alloy steel, and stainless steel (hereinafter referred to as seamless steel pipes) used in the manufacture of marine pressure piping systems, boilers, and superheaters.
