1 Scope

This document specifies the safety requirements and/or risk mitigation measures for molding sand preparation and sand recycling equipment, provides usage information, and describes the safety requirements for molding sand preparation and sand recycling equipment. The corresponding verification method. This document outlines the conditions under which molding sand preparation and sand recycling equipment should be used for their intended purpose, as well as under conditions of misuse that the manufacturer could reasonably foresee. When using this type of equipment, the major hazards associated with it, and examples of hazardous conditions or incidents (see Appendix A). This document applies to the design, manufacture, and acceptance of equipment for molding sand preparation and sand recycling. Note 1.Molding sand preparation and sand recycling equipment includes molding sand preparation equipment, sand recycling equipment, and related equipment for molding sand preparation and sand recycling. Note 2.This document does not cover specific hazards associated with wet sand regeneration equipment and wastewater treatment systems.
