Seed collection and information management requirements
1.Scope
This document specifies the procedures for wild plant seed collection preparation, field collection, processing upon arrival at the seed bank, and information management for the purpose of seed bank preservation.
Requirements for the management system.
This document applies to seed banks and other institutions that primarily collect and preserve wild plant seeds.
This includes relevant institutions, as well as the collection and information management of wild seeds for the purpose of seed preservation.

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

wild plant
Plants that grow naturally in their native habitat.
3.2
seed
The sexual reproductive body unique to flowering plants.
Note. Seeds in this document refer to the seeds of wild plants, including seeds or fruits in a botanical sense, and any attachments that are difficult to remove or whose removal would be detrimental to their health.
Accessories for the long-term preservation of seeds, etc.
3.3
Seed bank
Specialized buildings and facilities for the long-term safe preservation of plant seeds.
Note. This typically includes functional areas such as cold storage, drying room, seed processing and quality testing, supporting instruments and equipment, as well as the seeds and corresponding materials stored therein.
