1 Scope

This document specifies the technical requirements for additive manufacturing of lower limb prostheses and describes the corresponding test methods. This document is applicable to the production of prosthetic sockets at different amputation planes of lower limbs using additive manufacturing. Note. Includes the receiving cavity of hip disarticulation prosthesis, thigh prosthesis, knee disarticulation prosthesis, calf prosthesis and Syme prosthesis.

3 Terms and definitions

The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 14191.2, GB/T 16432 and GB/T 35351 and the following apply to this document. 3.1 Lower limb stump data collection The process of using data collection tools to obtain the shape data of the lower limb residual limb. 3.2 Digital design of stump socket The process of designing a digital model of the prosthetic socket through computer-aided design based on the collected data. 3.3 Additive manufacturing A process of manufacturing parts or objects by stacking materials based on 3D model data. 3.4 Additive manufacturing of stump socket Digital design of prosthetic socket is carried out based on residual limb data collection, using polymer, metal and other special materials for additive manufacturing.
