1 Scope

This standard specifies the method for the determination of free methanol in cosmetics by gas chromatography. This standard applies to the cream, water, shampoo, hair gel cosmetics in the determination of free methanol. The detection limit of methanol for this standard is 6.0mg/kg, the limit of quantification is 20.0mg/kg.

After pretreatment (direct dilution or water bath distillation), the samples were determined by gas chromatography, quantified by external standard method, gas chromatography-mass spectrometry confirm.

Unless otherwise stated, the reagents used are analytical grade and water is the experimental water specified in GB/T 6682. 4.1 Ethanol. Chromatographic pure, confirmed before use without methanol. 4.2 Sodium chloride. 4.3 ethanol [φ (C2H5OH) = 75%]. ethanol (4.1) 75mL, diluted with water to 100mL. 4.4 methanol standards. 4.5 methanol standard stock solution. take appropriate amount of methanol standard (4.4) (accurate to 0.0001g), with 75% ethanol (4.3) prepared with methanol 10g/L of the standard stock solution. Is now available. 4.6 Methanol Standard Working Solution. The methanol standard stock solution (4.5) was formulated with 75% ethanol (4.3) at a concentration of 0.002 g/L, 0.005 g/L, 0.01 g/L, 0.02 g/L, 0.05 g/L, 0.10 g/L, 0.20 g/L methanol standard working solution.
