3 Terms and Definitions
As defined in ISO 8044 and the following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1
Acidic acidity
The hydrogen ion concentration than the hydroxide ion concentration (pH < 7).
3.2
Alkaline alkalinity
Hydroxide ion concentration exceeds the concentration of hydrogen ions (pH > 7).
3.3
Anaerobic conditions anaerobiccondition
No free oxygen in solution.
3.4
Anode region anodicarea
As part of the metal surface of the anode.
3.5
Pressure linker bond
Metallic conductor, usually copper as the material to ensure equipotential connection between two points.
3.6
Calcareous sediments calcareousdeposits
Cathodic protection causes within the cathode region of alkali concentration is increased, leading to calcium deposition.
3.7
Calomel electrode calomelreferenceelectrode
Calomel electrode is formed of potassium chloride solution, mercury and calomel.
