1 Scope

This document specifies the types of ancient mural diseases and the corresponding diagrams. This document is applicable to the disease investigation, protection research and restoration of murals in grotto temples, ancient tombs, ancient buildings and museums in my country. project.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document. 3.1 Support The substrate to which the mural is attached. Note. Generally includes stone, wood, brick, soil, metal, gypsum, etc. 3.2 Plasterlayer A structural layer applied on a support to facilitate painting. Note. Generally includes mud layer, lime layer, gypsum layer, etc. 3.3 Background layer Used for lining and reinforcing the pigment layer, and applying a non-transparent layer on the surface of the support or ground layer. Note. The production materials generally include lime, paper, mineral pigments, etc. 3.4 Pigment layer pigmentlayer Layers of mural painting made with various pigments. 3.5 Surface coating surface coating A transparent layer applied on the surface of the pigment layer to fix the pigment layer and stabilize the color. 3.6 A general term for the harm caused to mural production materials or structures by environmental, human and other factors.

4 Disease types

4.1 Cracking The phenomenon of reticular cracks on the surface of the mural. See Figure A.1 in Appendix A for photos of the damage.
