Foreword
This standard is equivalent to using BSEN14370.2004 "Determination of surfactants --- surface tension" (in English).
For ease of use, this standard made the following editorial changes.
a) delete the original standard foreword and introduction;
b) delete the original standard directory;
c) with a decimal point '. 'Instead of as a decimal comma', '.
This standard is managed by the National Standardization Technical Committee chemicals dangerous (SAC/TC251) and focal points.
This standard was drafted. the Chemical Institute of Standardization, Jiangsu CIQ.

This standard is the first release.
Determination of the surface tension of the surfactant
1 Scope
This standard specifies the liquid surface, especially a surfactant solution Determination of tension.
This standard applies to the determination of static surface tension of liquid, such as inorganic or organic liquids and solutions.
2 Normative references
The following documents contain provisions which, through reference in this standard and become the standard terms. For dated references, subsequent
Amendments (not including errata content) or revisions do not apply to this standard, however, encourage the parties to the agreement are based on research
Whether the latest versions of these documents. For undated reference documents, the latest versions apply to this standard.
ISO 304. 1985 Determination of the surface tension of the detergent --- --- ring up liquid films
Principle 3
3.1 Measurement and perpendicular to the liquid in contact and are completely wetted flat surface tension F (static method) or measuring the level of a suspension stirrup
Ring-shaped objects or pull the liquid surface desired surface tension F (class static method), see reference [1] and [2]. By surface tension
The formula is calculated, see Chapter 8.
3.2 In the static method, to ensure that the plate is in a fixed state in order to get a balance. Class static method needs to be moved during the measurement process stirrup
Or ring-shaped objects, so the measurement process by a very small and slow moving stirrup or ring-shaped objects will deviate from the equilibrium level
Minimized.
4 Instrument
4.1 tonometer
Tonometer be based on experiments in flat, stirrup or ring was designed, generally consists of the following major components.
Small horizontal platform a) for supporting a sample container, and the platform can be moved up and down, as measured by a micrometer spiral move up and down.
b) means for measuring flat, stirrup-shaped objects or means on the force generated by the ring. Uncertainty of measurement must not exceed ± 10-6N,
The maximum relative mass measurement error ± 0.1mg.
NOTE. You can use a steelyard or an electronic balance (laboratory balances, analytical balance or microbalance) instead of the torsion balance. In order to obtain greater efficiency and
Repeatability can be used with a balance, automatic lifting automatic tension meter platform and evaluation device.
4.2 Tablet
Flat sheet or by platinum platinum/iridium sheet is made, about 20mm long, 0.2mm thick, 10mm high and the surface should be at least to mention rough
It is high wetting effect.
NOTE. To achieve the desired effect of the rough, you can use sandblast, emery grinding.
We need to become flat as the center axis of the suspension one o'clock, and the effective height of at least 10mm to minimize wetting errors, as shown in Figure 1.
