3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document. 3.1 Biofouling Biological growth on the surface or inside of the bottom of the ship and all other facilities in contact with seawater, causing damage to their functions. [Source. GB/T 15919-2010, 5.24, modified] 3.2 Direct current is passed between the specially made anode and cathode, and the effective chlorine produced by electrolysis of seawater is used to prevent biological fouling. 3.3 Electrolytic cell A device in which seawater electrolysis reaction and solution reaction occur in the seawater electrolysis system to produce effective chlorine. 3.4 Available chlorine A general term for hypochlorous acid and hypochlorite ions that are toxic to attached marine organisms and can inhibit the attachment and growth of marine organism larvae or spores. 3.5 Residual chlorine The available chlorine in the cooling water outlet water of the protected equipment. 4.Device design 4.1 The design indicators are as follows.
