1 Scope
This document provides the chemical name, molecular formula, relative molecular mass, and structural formula of lactic acid, and specifies the technical requirements for lactic acid as a feed additive.
Requirements, inspection rules, labeling, packaging, transportation, storage and shelf life, and sampling and testing methods are described.
This document applies to lactic acid feed additives made from starch or sugars through fermentation with Lactobacillus or Rhizopus oryzae.
