This Standard adopts the translation method to equivalently use ISO 105-A03.1993 Textiles – Tests for Color Fastness – Part A03.Grey Scale for Assessing Staining (English Version) and its Technical Corrigendum 2.2005. This Standard makes the following editorial modifications. --- Modify “this Part of ISO 105” into “this Standard”; --- Delete the Foreword of ISO 105-A03.1993; --- Include the contents of ISO 105-A03.1993 – Technical Corrigendum 2 in the relevant clauses. This Standard replaces GB 251-1995 Grey Scale for Assessing Staining. Compared with GB 251-1993, this Standard has the major changes as follows. --- Modify the standard name into “Textiles – Tests for Color Fastness – Grey Scale for Assessing Staining”; --- Adjust from the mandatory standard to recommended standard; --- Add background and covering material color requirements when using grey scale. This Standard was proposed by China National Textile and Apparel Council. This Standard shall be under the jurisdiction of Foundation Subcommittee of National Technical Committee for Standardization of Textiles (SAC/TC 209/SC 1). Drafting organizations of this Standard. This Standard specifies the grey scale and its use method for assessing the degree of staining of the lining fabric in the tests for color fastness of textiles. This Standard provides an accurate color measurement interval of grey scale, which may be used as the permanent record for the comparison of the newly produced grey scale and the grey scale that may change.2 Principle
