3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1
Near-infraredspectra
Molecular spectrum with a wavelength of about 780nm~2500nm (or a wavenumber of about 12820cm-1~4000cm-1).
3.2
Calibrationmodel
A mathematical expression that expresses the relationship between the fiber content of a set of samples and their spectra.
3.3
Calibrationsample
The fiber content data is known and used to build the sample for the calibration model.
3.4
Validationsample
The fiber content data is known and it is a sample used to verify the performance of the model.
3.5
Referencemethod
The method used to determine the fiber content of the calibration sample and verify the sample is usually a standard method or a recommended method.
Note. The methods for determining fiber content in international, national or industry standards, such as chemical analysis, physical analysis (manual split method and microscope method), etc.
3.6
Referencevalues
The fiber content value of the calibration sample or verification sample measured by the reference method.
3.7
Model validation
The process of verifying the consistency between the test value of the calibration model and the reference value with the verification sample.
