Part 21. Rock tensile strength test
1 Scope
This part of DZ/T 0276 specifies the tensile strength of rock measured by the splitting method.
This section applies to the determination of tensile strength of rock in rock physical and mechanical properties test.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1
Tensile strength tensilestrength
The maximum tensile stress that the rock specimen can withstand under the one-way tension condition.
4 Principle
In this test, the tensile strength of rock is measured indirectly by the splitting method. a relative linear load is applied along the diameter of the cylindrical sample to make the sample
The part is broken by tensile stress in the radial direction, and the tensile strength of the rock is obtained.
5 instruments
5.1 Material testing machine, the indication error shall not exceed ±1%.
5.2 Vernier caliper (range 15cm, accuracy 0.02mm), square (160mm × 100mm).
5.3 Diamond machine, stone cutting machine, stone grinding machine.
5.4 Inspection platform.
5.5 Tension clamp (see Figure 1).
