1 Scope
This document specifies the principles and methods for the instrument model code and instrument name naming of seismic observation instruments (hereinafter referred to as instruments).
This document applies to the installation and management of seismic observation instruments.

3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1
In seismic observation, a special measuring instrument is used to obtain a specific geophysical quantity (or chemical quantity) and its change with time.

4 Instrument model code
4.1 Coding Principles
4.1.1 Under the condition that the code of the instrument model is kept concise, the observation items, layout methods, components and other information of the instrument shall be reflected.
4.1.2 Under the premise of striving for the stability of the instrument model code, reflect the instrument modification information and meet the traceability of the instrument model code.
4.2 Code Structure
4.2.1 The instrument model code is composed of the instrument model mark segment, the half-width hyphen (“-”) and the instrument model information extension segment, and its structure is shown in Figure 1.
